With the Tall Boy seat, I'm looking way over the windshield, so I have a Clearview windshield on order. In the meantime, I'm getting really hard buffeting. In my opinion, I believe the Road Glide offers better wind protection than the Street Glide. With the Street Glide I felt I could never reduce the helmet buffeting to an acceptable level for me. I tried four different windshields, three seats and three helmets.

WebApr 5, 2024 · I don't think you'll get any wind buffeting from a naked bike, just the fairing/windshield bikes. I have a HD Street Bob and can only ride it 300 miles a day or so because of the wind fatigue(I don't wear a helmet). But my HD Baggers, Street Glide and Road Glide I could ride 10-14 hours a day, day after day and never was wind a problem.

Your eye line should be just above the top of the windshield so you are not looking through the windshield. Buffeting is a function of your height above the seat and the relationship of your helmet to the leading edge of the shield (i.e. horizontal distance). Air begins to "tumble" as it flows up and over the leading edge, sometimes causing buffeting. Accordingly you will have to tailer a shield to you. embry riddle customer service
