Webb29 juli 2024 · The Ranger III is a nice small ship that carries passengers from Houghton Michigan to the Isle Royale Park. Very professional. Good little snack bar. And lectures by rangers on the history and geology of the park and the Lake Superior region. The boat actually rates better than park accommodations which are below par for park facilities. WebbTwo ferries provide service to the island, and both operate between May and September, though exact dates may fluctuate. The Ranger III Ferry leaves from Houghton, Michigan, while the Isle Royale Queen IV departs from Copper Harbor. Both arrive in Rock Harbor and/or Windigo once they reach the island.
